Social, Emotional, and Ethical (SEE) Learning is an innovative K-12 education program developed by Emory University.
SEE Learning™ provides educators with the tools they need to foster the development of emotional, social, and ethical intelligence for students and themselves.
SEE Learning™ represents the state of the art in education by enhancing SEL programming with key additional components, including:
- attention training
- compassion and ethical discernment
- systems thinking
- resilience and trauma-informed practice
This program provides educators with a developmentally-staged curriculum consisting of easy-to-implement lessons, the conceptual framework used to design the curriculum, and resources for educator preparation and development. SEE Learning empowers students to engage ethically as part of a global community and provides educators with the tools to support student well-being.
This introductory program is free and will be followed by a Train-the-trainer program which will start in November 2023 and continue through May 2024. Participating in this program will lead to a certificate.
Session Three
Getting Started with SEE Learning
Wednesdays, March 15th, 22nd, and 29th @ 7:00-8:30am US EDT (Asia, Europe, and Africa)
Thursdays, April 13th, 20th, and 27th @ 6:30-8:00pm US EDT - 3:30-5:30pm PDT (North and South America)
The SEE Learning® team at Emory is offering two sets of Getting Started with SEE Learning® workshop. This virtual educator preparation workshop consists of three two-hour sessions and each session is separated by a week. These workshops begin March 15th. The purpose of the workshops is to prepare educators to teach the content of chapters 1 and 2 of the SEE Learning curriculum.
The workshop introduces the SEE Learning framework. It consists of nine enduring capabilities oriented around awareness, compassion and engagement that are developed in the personal, social and systems domains. It also presents ways to regulate stress and emotions through trauma-informed resiliency skills by cultivating holistic perspective through systems thinking. It is recommended for educators interested in fostering social, emotional, and ethical learning in K-12 classrooms.
